| Tiivistelmä: | Theoretical examination of payment by results especially when it is applied as an incentive for managers. The influence of managerial actions on the results has been found problematic in many instances. The main problems of measurement of managerial efficiency are discussed. Empirical data on 2000 Austrian managers whose payment varied according their results in 1985 are examined. Distribution of their earnings is investigated. Correlations and regressions are computed and analyzed. Some conclusions are drawn. Several remarks on the Austrian labour market of managers are made. |
