| Tiivistelmä: | The concept of flexible working time is highlighted. Different forms of working time reduction and flexitime systems are described. It is shown how the application of these measures and systems can influence some societal phenomena and the operation of companies. The relationship between shaping working hours and pay is examined. Some effects on production scheduling, manpower planning, and technology are described and analyzed. Moreover, these changes in time patterns can influence the working conditions, the job content, and some other aspects of work organization. Advantages and disadvantages are contrasted. |
