| Tiivistelmä: | Science and technology are not just one aspect of economic growth, but a vital factor in socioeconomic development, particularly among developing countries. Science policy cannot exist in isolation from the economic and social development plan of a country. It is essential not only to establish an effective science policy mechanism but also create an adequate infrastructure conductive to science and technology development. The governments must take a lead in the renewal process by providing various ways and means, i.e. legal, administrative, and/or financial. Establishing research and development institutes is considered to be the most effective way to assist industrialization. |
