| Tiivistelmä: | Between 1980 and 1991 the structure of production and employment in the industrialised countries shifted away from agriculture and mining towards service activities. At the same time, the importance of the tertiary sector in each country is largely determined by the traditional extent of government activity and of other tertiary areas not subject to international competition, in terms of the incomes earned in these areas in the various countries. |
