Tiivistelmä:In developing world, a billion people have little or no access to safe water or sanitation. The World Health Organisation (WHO) believes that more than 70% of diseases are caused by this lack. The situation in Africa is even more dire than in other developing continents. After the Johannesburg Earth Summit, the world is committed to halving the number of people without access to safe drinking water by 2015. This Special inquiry section, Agenda, examines the current situation in Africa. Included are two case studies from South Africa and Tanzania.
