| Tiivistelmä: | This paper discusses the disaster management process of Galtuer (Austria) in 1999, which suffered one of the severest avalance disasters ever experienced in Austrian Alps. Security and emergency measures taken in this Alpine resort are explored, and failure and success factors in disaster management are discussed. It is shown that destinations significantly improve their disaster management tools and procedures after having faced a crisis. |
