Tiivistelmä: | The author of this article looks at information technology in a strategic context. He suggests that we perceive IT-resources as a 'value center' encompassing a cost center for efficient delivery of products and services, a service center to support current business strategy, an investment center focused on creating IT-enabled businesses, and a profit center to deliver IT-products and IT-services to external markets. The different sectors would, naturally, have different capabilities and require different performance metrics. |
