Tiivistelmä:Over the last two decades, there have been critical developments in both strategy analysis and computer-based decision tool, but there has been very little integration of the two. Strategic analysis has often been oversimplified by a focus on just one or two critical dimensions. The need for a multidimensional framework is stressed. The systematic analysis of at least five dimensions (financials, products, customers, competitors, and time periods, is suggested. A lot of complex relationships are visualized, but the full five-dimensional model can only be controlled by using a computer-based system. This is in the background of the emergence of Strategy Support Systems. The British motorcycle industry serves for an illustration.
