Tiivistelmä:There is an emphasis on the dynamic, processual qualities of social organization. This is signalled by the reference to "organizing" rather than to "organization". When organizing is the central concern, attention is directed to how organization is created in action. This contrasts with the more usual focus on the forms that may characterize organizations - simple, complex, hierarchical - and so on. Given this common focus, some contributors find that the language of "texture" allows them to pursue their interest better /Bouwen and Steyaert/; others prefer the language of "organizing" /Brown/. The language of "texture" is used explicitly by Cooper and Fox.
