| Tiivistelmä: | This paper analyses how an incumbent defends its competitive advantage, focusing on the under-examined methods of actively defending against the threats from rival innovation. The set of such defenses (here as: defs.) and their likely effects are described and analyzed. The set of defs. differs remarkably from many standard defs., e.g. defs. aimed at defeating the threat of imitation. Further study of the pre-emptive innovation defs. is important. |
