Tiivistelmä: | The central thesis is that the venture creation process is different for innovative ventures (herein as: inn-vents.) versus imitative ones (as: imt-vents). This holds up as the pace of the process differs by type of venture as do the effects of certain predictors of human capital (HC) and social capital (SC). The theoretically derived models using HC, SC, and certain controls are relatively successful in explaining progress of the creation process for the minority of inn-vents. but get very limited success for the majority of imt-vents. In addition, another important result is that the building-up of instrumental SC is important for making progress with both types of ventures, and increasingly, so as with the progress of the process. |
