| Tiivistelmä: | Since the middle 70s, the economic crisis coupled with technological progress has changed the background for companies, pressing for a review of management methods, as well for daily business as for long term strategy. To study the adaptation of small and medium sized enterprises to the changing environment, an inquiry has been conducted amongst 25 smaller firms in the Mons region, directed towards the attitude of these enterprises to management problems and outside consulting practices. The enquiry proved that typical managers are very sensitive to competition and management advice is very seldom asked for from outside. |
