| Tiivistelmä: | A large scale research was conducted in 41 large Belgian companies. 131 innovation projects were studied in order to bring to light the factors encouraging or inhibiting the innovation process. A conceptual model was developed comprising four stages: preception, conceptualization, development and implementation. Interviews with senior personnel made it possible to identify the critical conditions for success at each of the stages. Based on this information recommendations are drawn concerning three areas: 1. increasing the technical-economic forecasting capacity of the companies and of the economic community at large; 2. stimulating the research efforts; 3. organizing the innovation development process. |
