| Tiivistelmä: | Germany has been plagued by high and persistent unemployment since the early 1970s. Active labour market policies (ALMP) have been regarded as suitable means of fighting this unacceptable situation, because they are capable of meeting efficiency and equity goals at the same time. The most important measures can be categorized in two broad groups: Training on the one hand and subsidized employment on the other. In this paper the authors will try to estimate the effects of wage subsidies on the labour demand. |
