| Tiivistelmä: | The presented approach is compared to recent work on a multiattribute approach to the problem of public risks evaluation, in which fatalities, ex ante equity, and ex post equity play leading roles. Equity issues are approached from the perspective of holistic comparisons between potential fatality distributions over subsets of people at risk. A number of axiomatic bases for such comparisons are considered, maximally compatible sets of axioms are identified, the approach is related to the multiattribute approach, and a notion of disperse equity is discussed which is not discussed in detail but deserves further consideration. |
