| Tiivistelmä: | A survey was designed to measure use of temporary employees and, in the process, offer employers some insight into how temporary employees might be a more effective part of staffing strategies. A substantial number of the temporary employees are engineers and blue collar workers; temps often constitute more than 5% of an employer's work force; for many employers the average temporary assignment is more than one month; temporary services are increasingly specialized; employers are using temporary employees to compensate for employees lost in downsizing or other staff cutbacks. |
