| Tiivistelmä: | The factors are determined which lead to perceptions that negotiating and transaction costs are high when cooperative R and D is carried out. Transaction costs are considereds as an explanatory variable for the choice between markets and organizational arrengements for performing some predefined tasks, such as engaging in private R and D. It is shown that the perception of high transaction costs is related to certain characteristics of the firm and to the type of R and D. A relationship between the perception of transactioncosts and the perceived succes of the cooperation is also presented. |
