| Tiivistelmä: | The papers in this conference are primarily positivist but raise a question concerning the relevance of transaction cost economics to decisionmakers. Decisionmakers could use the insights of transaction cost economics to distinguish between efficiency enhancing and restrictive practices, and to supply private parties with default contract terms or organizational forms. This comment first reviews the conference papers and then suggests that the particularity of transaction cost economic solutions to problems of contracting may make it difficult to use transaction cost insights in these ways. |
