| Tiivistelmä: | Different forms of inter-firm cooperation are increasingly discussed and realized. Even in economic research cooperation phenomena have been considered in recent years. Especially theories of new institutional economics and game theoretical approaches are used as frameworks to explain cooperation. However, a systematic assessment of their basic power of explanation concerning cooperation does not exist yet. For this, an approach based on theoretical aspects and criteria is presented here. This approach includes basic modells of the agency theory, the transaction-cost approach and the Prisoner's Dilemma as a game theoretical approach. A survey of game theoretical approaches, especially developed to explain cooperation, is given. Futhermore, ideas suggested by other theories and implications for further studies are mentioned. |
