| Tiivistelmä: | The article assesses two earlier works by Schneider and Windsperger in this journal. It is argued here that the neo-Austrian theory of the entrepreneurial function, on which both authors draw heavily, is in its present state an inadequate tool for the economic analysis of institutions. Some of the misinterpretations of transaction cost economics are also pointed out, which emerge out of the aforementioned articles. Finally, it is shown by using algebraic example, how transaction cost economics deals with the make or buy decision, when reputational problems on the supplier side are at stake. |
