Tiivistelmä:The 1994 German bargaining round was characterised by the lowest increases in the west for decades and increases in the east which ran at half the previous year's rate. Pay growth averaged 2.1% in the west and 6.4% in the east. There was a strong emphasis on job security and working time flexibility clauses. In addition, around 1 million employees benefited from cuts in working time, while around 1.9 million received increased holiday entitlement. Collectively-agreed bonus payments averaged 98% of gross monthly pay in 1994, down from 100% the previous year.
