Tiivistelmä: | Corporations are coping with the implications of the steady increase in two-career couples. Dual-career couples have created both opportunities and obstacles for organizations. Corporate policies to deal with the issues range: spouses employed by the same company in the same unit /1/, or in different units /2/; spouses employed by different companies in unrelated industries /3/, or in the same industry, perhaps with major competitors /4/. Five major policy areas are examined: nepotism, transfers, flexible work arrangements, day care, and conflicts of interest. Actual practices are discussed. Projected changes in the second half of the decade are enumerated and a scenario is suggested which draws on both survey and secondary data. |
