| Tiivistelmä: | The issues of culture, cultural politics , social power, and the television audience in cultural studies are addressed critically. Two major themes associated with cultural studies are examined. It is claimed that cultural studies tend to analyze all cultural interpretations in terms of struggles between dominant and subordinate groups. The text-centered approach of cultural studies misses much of television viewing complexity. |
