Tiivistelmä:By november 1991, IBM had proposed a series of changes to its organization in reaction to falling sales and profits. After 3 decades of market dominance, IBM needed to reorganize to meet today's competitive conditions. Now, the plan is for IBM to become a federation of smaller, nimbler companies with faster customer response and an entrepreneurial spirit to replace bureaucratic management. The new marketing units will be allowed to combine IBM products with the products of other companies to offer the best systems and provide total solutions to solve customers' problems.
