| Tiivistelmä: | Dual sector universities or duals are a growing international phenomenon, combining 'further' and 'higher' education within one institution to provide enhanced opportunities for student transition btw. post-secondary sectors. In this paper, the results of an international survey of duals are presented from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa and the United Kingdom (UK). The duals are shown to operate divergent operational models in managing the structural challenges of cross-sector education characterized as unitary and binary. Many duals assert that state and provincial government regulation complicates the integration of structures, processes and human resources within a dual sector context. |
