| Tiivistelmä: | The effective allocation of funds for covering the risk of warranty claims against poor products is a major problem to manufacturers. This is due to the uncertainties associated with failures, quality levels, and economic conditions. Underestimating this requirement for future outlays will result in a false impression of the profit position of the firm whereas overestimating will result in lost opportunity due to the inactive committed funds. A model estimating the warranty reserve fund for a manufacturer has been developed. |
