| Tiivistelmä: | 22 September was the date for the transposition to the European Works Councils (EWCs) Directive into the law of the 17 countries it covers. It was also the deadline for the conclusion of voluntary "Article 13" agreements. The implementation of the Directive has been one of the most complex legislative operations carried out in EC law. After the Directive was adopted, the 17 European Economic Area countries affected had two years to put in place the necessary measures to implement it. The authors summarise the position on national implementation and on voluntary agreements. |
