| Tiivistelmä: | The Commission has launched formal consultations with the social partners on the possibility of European-level action in the area of national-level information and consultation of workers. The authors look at the background debate which has led the Commission to take this step, and examine the content of the consultation document. A commitment on the part of the Commission to look into the possibility of action in the area of national-level information and consultation was given in its 1995-97 medium-term social action programme. |
