| Tiivistelmä: | The considerable confusion and misinformation which surround the subject of Japanese trade barriers may scare off exporters who could profit from Japanese trade. A survey of small business exporters - with and without experience with Japanese markets - indicates that trade barriers may be less of an obstacle that is commonly perceived. Each of the following trade barriers is considered: government imposed trade barriers; competitive rivalry based barriers; market differences based barriers. Implications for small business exporters and trade policy are summarized. |
