| Tiivistelmä: | Information as one of the most important productive factor in an industrial company is characterized. Its availability and quality are considered with a view to the market success of the company. The critical role of the minimization of the throughput time of data processing activities is emphasized. The structure and function of data stores and data flows are analyzed. Material flows and information flows are compared in a Just-in-Time frame of reference. The concept of information logistics is introduced. Four levels of information logistics are identified: integration of objectives; integration of responsibilities; integration of tasks and methods; integration of hardware components. |
