| Tiivistelmä: | It has so far been a very quiet year for EC social policy, with no important items of legislation being adopted and very few proposed. The Commission's careful new social action programme does not suggest that this situation will change much in the coming few years. Our state-of-play update sets out the latest developments. Only one new proposal for legislation covering the entire Community has been submitted so far this year. This is the draft Directive on equal treatment for men and women in occupational social security schemes, in the light of the ECJ's judgments in Barber and other cases. |
