| Tiivistelmä: | The regional economic development is uneven in China. However, the unbalance in economic development presents different features due to the different strategies on economic development practised in different regions and during the different historical periods. Since opening up (1979-1992) China's strategy of regional economic development had changed thoroughly. Generally speaking, China implemented a "unbalanced gradient transfer strategy" with the development of the coastal areas as the main task. In the 1990s, to promote the implementation of this strategy, China should make full use of two modes of resources allocation through both market and planning in a bid to facilitate the formation of unified inter- regional market in China. |
