| Tiivistelmä: | A review of current and proposed innovations in accounting activity and cost accounting systems in two Swedish hospitals, based on interviews with administrators and senior doctors, the differences between the professional ethos of the doctor and managerial ambitions of the administrator, the role of new control information in the outlook of some administrators and some doctor managers, and reducing goal uncertainty in organisation. The author calls for a revision of existing accounts of the interaction of doctors and administrators. |
