| Tiivistelmä: | The empirical relationship between accounting based measures of performance and the degree of multinational diversification is investigated for a set of European chemical industry companies. It is found that for these companies, the degree of multinational diversification is strongly related to superior financial performance. The findings indicate that multinational companies outperform purely domestic and exporting companies. Strong support is provided for gains from multinational diversification. |
