| Tiivistelmä: | Recent events at Bhopal and Sandoz have raised a new concern over chemical accidents and the handling of toxic wastes. American and European experiences in the legislative arena and in dealing with substantial chemical accidents are analyzed. The costs and actions of both multinational corporations and governments in response to, and clean-up of, these accidents are noted. Specific actions for governments and multinational corporations are addressed to lessen both the toxic waste and toxic accident problem. |
