| Tiivistelmä: | The article analyzes human resource management systems in small firms and their effect on firm performance. The study, which concentrates on Dutch pharmacies, indicates no relationship between more advanced HR systems and productivity in these micro firms. However, employees do notably benefit from the introduction of HR systems. The study furthermore suggests that in small businesses personal relations between employer and employees are more important that formal HR practices. |
