| Tiivistelmä: | The state of the management consultancy industry in Britain, both from a supply and from a demand perspective, is analyzed. The task of consultant selection and evaluation is examined. An overview of the industry as a whole is presented in tables. The ten largest firms are listed by sectors: strategy and information technology consultants; marketing and human resource consultants; financial mangement and manufacturing consultants. Data on the number of firms and their total turnover are presented and analyzed. A survey of some 3,200 respondents carried out by the Institute of Management Consultants enabled the "typical" British management consultant to be profiled. Data on fees and salaries are included. Consultancy users and purchase criteria are also discussed. |
