| Tiivistelmä: | Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) refers to the intercompany, computer-to-computer exchange of business documents in standard formats. EDI systems for data and information transmission particularly between suppliers and customers have become increasingly popular during the past decade. This paper presents the results of a survey on EDI systems. The major intent of the survey was to obtain information about the characteristics of EDI systems that were operating, the firms that employ them, and the industries in which they are utilized. |
