| Tiivistelmä: | In 1981 the US Congress enacted a "safe harbor" lease law permitting firms to sell unnecessary tax depreciation deductions and tax credits to other firms. This paper investigates the signifigance of the impact of lack of reporting and non-disclosure on the interpretation of financial statements of firms active in leasing. The author gives examples of problematic nature, which need a closer look. The tax bill has now been repealed, but the auditing bodies should analyze what the changes have been. |
