Tiivistelmä: | The popular assumption is that sport initiatives change the image of a city as more attractive to potential tourists. This article examines whether these initiatives really have value as reimaging theme for contemporary city destination. Analysing initiatives made in Birmingham, Manchester, and Sheffield, the results show that even though sport reimaging brings some advantages, there are notable difficulties associated with this sort of place marketing. |
