| Tiivistelmä: | Rewards systems in companies are delegated to the personnel department, instead of being a main board item, aligned to the firm's culture and priorities. Rewards are seen as a sensitive subject and where there is an established grading structure managements are usually reluctant to change it. But it is worthwhile doing some alterations in it as benefits flowing from it clearly show. When a company changes its operating style and attitudes, motivation of the workforce has to be provided for within the existing budget. ITN (Independent Television News) has recently adopted a radical new pay plan with one common set of conditions. |
