| Tiivistelmä: | On 25 November 1992 Prime Minister Gro Harlem Brundtland submitted the application of Norway for membership of the European Community, now the European Union (EU), to the Council of the European Communities. Negotiations on the terms of accession have now been completed. If all parties (including the Norwegian Storting, taking into account the result of a referendum) accept the terms of the accession agreement and Norway becomes a member, Norway must implement EC law in the field of direct taxation as well as in other areas, subject to the accession terms. |
