| Tiivistelmä: | The results of a survey about flexibility done in the North of France in 18 firms belonging to the textile and clothes industry are shown. The nature and the amount of uncertainty in this industry are revealed. Internal and qualitative flexibility appeares as the essential way of facing uncertainty even if it must be combined with other ways. To succeed, firms concentrate on structural changes that lead to a better organization in manufacturing and improved communication between departments. |
