| Tiivistelmä: | At present, the Russian banking system is undergoing radical changes in its structure and in the role it plays in the economic life of Russian society. Banking systems are known for being very conservative. However, a specific feature of Russian banking reform is that banks often set the pace for the reform of the economy on the whole, while being at the same time influenced by political and macroeconomic factors. The paper analyzes the contemporary banking system in Russia with a great number of the latest data from Russian and economic publications. Also referred are the laws of the Russian Federation and the standard acts of the Russian government and the Central Bank of the Russian Federation (CBRF). |
