Tiivistelmä:Diversification is a major problem for top management. Fundamentally, the following possibilities are open to the company: acquisition, joint venture or start-up. The identification of new promising fields of activity is always accompanied by the question as to which mode of entry should be adopted for the newly selected field of activity. In principle, the following aspects have to be considered by these two strategic major tasks of the top management. Apart from the established attractiveness of the selected future field of activity and a foreseeable rentability of the entry into this field, the entrepreneurial competence for better profit yield must be enhanced through the acquisition, joint venture or a start-up.
