| Tiivistelmä: | Faced with rapidly changing markets and technologies, business enterprises are increasingly compelled to adapt to their new environments by making structural adjustments. A modern corporate structure must be capable of meeting new requirements in terms of flexibility, innovation and coordination. In companies that are switching their operations from traditional to high-tech areas, the choice of the right organisational concept will be the crucial factor determining the success of the whole enterprise. The author uses the case of the MAN AG in Munich to illustrate the motives for, the measures involved in and the results of a restructuring operation. |
