| Tiivistelmä: | It is explained, what kind of knowledge planning should uncover in Eastern Europe. A company should become aware of industrial structures of the region which have little in common with those elsewhere in the world. Many Eastern European countries focus on specific industries designated by the COMECON. The cosequences of specialization is that some countries have developed industrial sector or sub-sectors now having clear competitive advantages in scale, infrastructure, experience, and manpower training. On the other hand, countries or regions that lack industrial development may signal opportunity for Western firms. |
