Tiivistelmä: | This article investigates daily political communication and argumentation in direct democracy by using the debate between the advocates and opponents of nuclear energy as an example. The paper argues that the nuclear energy debate is very conflictual and bases on logical daily argumentation, in which questions of social and political representation and placement-displacement are crucial. In this kind of a political debate not only credible and refutable arguments are important, but also a certain type of discourse is constructed in order to achieve effective social and political representations fundamental in these debates. |
