| Tiivistelmä: | A research was performed from 2006 to 2007 to understand the opportunity of service learning (hereafter as: srv-lrng.) for young adults (as: y-as.), community (here as: cmmty.) and volunteer associations. The aims were to 1. determine whether there is a need to forge links btw. the university and the volunteer work world and, 2. describe the specific areas of action in the local context. Using a total of 603 video-recorded interviews, it is found that there is a need to create a network for helping institutions, neighbourhoods and y-as. to assess the demand and provide an organized response for educational and cmmty. needs. As a result, Turin University will be operating the first srv-lrng. in Italy. |
