The French national accounting board, the Conseil National de la Compatibilite (CNC), celebrated its 50th anniversary on October 1997. The minister of finance and industry used this occasion to make a significant announcement. The draft accounting law, allowing certain companies to depart from French accounting principles in their group accounts, would be presented to parliament for a vote at the end of 1997. |
